So there was no FDA-reviewed plan for tests before or during use.

In May 2026, a national group representing state medical boards said a patient’s choice from a treatment list is not enough to prescribe.

The person prescribing it still needs to check the patient’s health and needs.

The group also says the visit must let patients ask further questions.
